I work at Hobart Airport, working there 15 years, travelling at 3am to travel to work, on Thursday 13 May, I was travelling past the Hobart Regatta ground which is opposite the Aquatic Centre in Hobart, on the opposite side of the river Derwent above Bellerive, there was a very large white light, quite bright, very high, something that should not be there. I continued to watch the light as I drove towards the Tasman Bridge, as I drove up the bridge, I kept my eyes on this light, trying to see what was causing the glow, as I reached the top of the bridge, small coloured lights started to appear beneath the white light. Starting on the left, each light would come on after the other until I could see a half circle, it was now a disc, about the size of a football field, or sports ground, by the time the first small light came on till the last took only about 3 seconds, then within 2 more seconds there was nothing, no light, just darkness, all black, I was shocked, playing what had just happened in my mind, over and over, getting all the facts in order. There were taxi drivers heading in the opposite direction, taxi drivers in the city also. I told the staff at work, and expected to see a report in the Tasmanian Mercury the next day, but nothing, so I asked that word get out there to the taxi drivers to see if anyone else had seen this. Surely someone else had seen it. I know what I saw, and now I know, even if I can’t convince some.
