Last night, 11 October 2018 at around 11:30 pm I went into the back yard to check overhead on the very dark cloudy weather. Directly overhead I noticed what I first thought may have been a mild case of sheet lightning, but unlike sheet lightning I have witnessed many many time in the past. This one performed very strangely. It flashed on and off quite rapidly and repeatedly and in the same area. I then thought it may have been someone on the ground shining a powerful flashing light into the clouds. As the night was very dark there was definitely no sign of any light rays being projected upwards onto the clouds. I went inside my house and told my wife to come out and have a look to make sure I wasn't imagining this. She came out with me and confirmed that it wasn't my imagination. She also saw it. We went to bed and do some reading and after about twenty minutes I went outside again. I was amazed that the strange light was still flashing. I have no idea what the heck caused this. I am a UFO sceptic but I am left scratching my head at what it might have been, or what caused it. I had another look up in the sky tonight at the same time and there ain't nothing.
