Circa 1995, before the days of mobile phones. I just left my mate's house to use a public phone at the Cook shops. When crossing a sporting oval I heard a faint sound of wind, almost a full hissing. My peripheral vision drew my attention to a very large, slow moving craft omitting a green glow (very similar to the novelty stars you stuck to your walls as a kid and they lit up in the dark). It flew directly over me at approximately 60 km/h and it would have only been about 50 metres above me. I watched it slowly head off in the direction of the Cook shops so I tried to keep up. I arrived at the shops, groups of strangers were captivated and began walking in a large group up the road to follow the object. It then disappeared out of sight only to reappear about seven minutes later as a light further up in the sky. It danced for only a few seconds then screamed at an incredible speed and disappeared. I can't explain why, but there was a real sense of intrigue and calm when the craft was directly above me. I had no sense of danger or panic.
