I am at the northern end of Somersby, NSW and there is a triangular object floating around on about a heading of about 020 from me, approx on a line to Norah Head. It has been there for a while, appears triangular with red and green lights and appears to be moving up and down in the same general area. I estimate it's about 1500 metres high (I am a pilot) and it has been about 45 minutes since I first noticed the object, it's now 7.20 pm.

Did anyone see or can explain, the bright white light travelling, approximately west to east, at around 7.06 pm tonight, the 9 May 2017. The light was above Maitland, NSW. The light was as white as a torch and as it started to disappear it had a tail, as though it was on fire, like sparks were coming off. Was this space junk? I'm 50 years old and have not seen anything like it.

Last night, the 6 May 2017, we were camping at Cattai National Park, NSW. My daughter noticed a red light in the sky traveling from right to left. The light paused and travelled back to the right and then dropped, in a straight line, to the horizon and up again. It continued to travel to the left in a steady motion. The light dimmed a few times and then went red again. It was brighter than a star. There were four of us and we all were mesmerised by the light. The light disappeared behind trees and then reappeared to hover for a while before disappearing. It was so surreal.

At 4.35 am on the 25 April 2017 I was cuddling my cat, when I looked out the bedroom window I saw a very large black triangle shaped craft with a bright yellow/orange light at each apex of the triangle. The craft glided at a steady speed towards Berridale (I live in Cooma, NSW). The lights were much larger than any star. I saw a red and green light flash a couple of times. There was no sound and no animal sounds, after a while the craft was gone and the birds started chirping and dogs barking. I looked on the internet and asked a friend who knows about military and civilian air craft lights, but nothing matched. The red and green lights were in the wrong position for landing/marking lights. The sky was clear at the time. This was not drone. The yellow/orange lights were huge at least eight times larger than aeroplane lights. I often look at the night sky and know it was not an aeroplane.

On the 23 April 2017 at approximately 9.45 pm. It was a exceptionally clear night sky with no clouds. I had just exited my car and noticed the amount of stars that were visible. This was the only reason that made me look up into the sky. I was just saying to myself what a wonderful view we have in Australia with so many stars. I was panning my vision around and was only a few seconds when I noticed what seemed to be that part of the sky was moving. I realized that a dark object was moving across the sky and it would block the view of the stars as it passed between them and myself. It seemed to be just gliding silently above, at a steady slow speed. I was trying to analyze what I was seeing. In a matter of a second my first thoughts were, 'A huge bird, no bird is that big, a Terrordactyl, a hang glider; no one would hang glide at night.' 'What the f#@$ is that,' I said aloud. All these thoughts went through my mind in a matter of a second. It seemed to be about 20 to 30 metres above the ground and shaped like a boomerang or a airplane without the body. It had very dim lights all along the leading edge, maybe eight or ten of them. I was totally mesmorised by this object and had never seen anything like it. There is no way it was a airplane as it was totally silent, and too large to be a plane in the distance. No way it was a drone as I have seen drones and they are not silent when this close or are they this big. It was not a flock of birds as it... Read more

It was not a flock of birds as it was totally uniform and so perfectly smooth in its movement. I guess the whole sighting was between 8 to 10 seconds, as it drifted away and just vanished from view. Not like it shot away or sped out of sight, just disappeared into the dark. I turned to call out to my stepson who was inside but the door was shut, so I did not bother calling out. It was amazing and baffling at the same time. About a week later I timidly mentioned this to a local shop owner, to my surprise, and admittedly, a bit of relief she said, 'Heaps of people saw it and it was on the news.' I had not seen the news or heard anyone else mention this.... Collapse

I was driving from Campbelltown, NSW on the M5 freeway when I saw an unusual set of lights that appeared to ring a white object, at first I thought it may be a helicopter, there was one flying mostly over the Holsworthy military base. I tried to keep my eye on the object and left the freeway at the Heathcote Road exit. I headed for higher ground, on my right I could see the military vehicle headed to its base and through my rear window I could still see the object it hadn't moved. I found higher ground and got out of my car to disappointment, it had disappeared, my first thought was that it may be a blimp, albeit a small one or a helicopter, which it wasn't, and assume that everyone on the freeway at that time should have seen it.

On clear weather days, after sitting at work for hours, I slowly walk in circles my backyard in Fairfield West, to 'stretch my legs', every evening for about 40 minutes; always after 10.30 pm. I enjoy walking and gazing at the sky and stars. On Friday night 7 May 2017 I just stepped out at 10.30 pm and noticed a very fast illuminated circular projectile moving in a straight line southward towards Liverpool. I've seen shooting stars few times with their curved projectile motion and this was different: It was in a straight line, and at incredibly fast. I thought it was unusual that it didn't have the curved projectile motion of a shooting star. The next evening I went for a walk in my backyard even later at 11.20 pm. The sky was quite clear. It was just after midnight at 12.10 am and I was just about to conclude my walk when I noticed three (3) circular white lights in the sky in the configuration of an equilateral triangle formation: one light at each point ie. one at apex, and two below. They appeard to be hovering over Liverpool-Casula about 6 to 10 km southward from where I was standing. The three lights were stationary and hovered in unison for about 15 seconds. I wanted to quickly go into my house to record on my phone, but decided to observe a little longer. The circular light object hovering at the apex of the triangular formation flickered somewhat only for about two seconds and I could discern an orange tubular structured object at its centre. The flickering stopped. Sitting on my balcony tonight at 10.40 pm I witnessed a V shaped formation of lights that were a very dim pale yellow/gold colour, moving north to south in a straight line. The lights were in a V with each 'wing' in a straight line and there was probably four to six lights on each line of the 'wings'. I couldn't make out any other physical shape around the lights. They appeared to be about 300 to 500 metres high and moved across my vision about five seconds? Definitely not a flock of birds, the formation of lights retained there positions. I thought initially it was a flock of birds and the light from the street lights/ houses was reflecting on them. The lights and the path it took was very stable. Very bizarre.

On the 26 August 1983, I was out with my family at the Gosford RSL, NSW, Australia, celebrating my mothers birthday. After dinner, my parents and older brother went to play the pokies. I was seventeen years old so I had to go wait in the car. Between 9 and 10 pm I was facing south towards the Woy Woy direction and saw a bright light (like a motorcycle headlight) on top of the mountain. This light started to move closer, so I got out of the car as it start to move over the top of my head. This object was not fast moving and was not high, maybe 200 to 300 metres. As it passed over head the circular light was actually two lights located at the head of the 'craft'. I looked in amazement as I could make out the shape. It was a massive UFO shaped like a diamond with straight back and side surfaces. Under the UFO were flashing coloured lights, highlighting the shape along the edges. In the centre was a hexagon or circled shape which also had flashing lights spinning around. I presumed it was some kind of door or opening. It was travelling very slow at about ten kilometres per hour and therefore I got a very good view of the UFO. As it slowly moved north, the back had a red bar light that ran across the whole 'rear end'. It appeared like it was a flat object, made no sound and its size would have been equivalent to about ten jumbo jets. I have never known who to share this with and found this site so I thought I would share it with you. I am happy to talk to anyone who wishes to confirm or investigate. Like many who... Read more

Just before 8.30 pm on 27 March 2017 I was sitting out the front when I witnessed a object moving through the sky. I called out, 'quick a meteor,' to my daughter, who witnessed it as well. It was moving around the speed you would normally see satellites. The object seemed to glance the edge of the atmosphere as it lit up very bright for around five seconds then dulled back to the average brightness of the rest of the stars. It continued moving across the sky until it went out of sight. I searched the web to see if anyone else had reported this or if a meteor near miss had occured but did not find anything.

I was parked outside Bankstown Hospital in 1963 when I was 17 years old. It was early evening when I witnessed a line of moving lights on the horizon, moving in my direction. I got out of the car and watched six large silent disc shaped craft go overhead, in a line and then disappear in the other horizon, in a perfectly straight line. They were not from this planet. The next day l bought the morning Telegraph newspaper thinking there would be headlines, only to find a small article saying moving lights were seen, very disappointing. I can not think of any earthly explanation for what l witnessed. I wish l had a camera with me.

I was watching a reddish star through the window as it was brought to my attention by a family member. It looked like a star. I asked, 'What is so special?' before I could finish, the light had begun to move in circles. Then, up and down with such a degree of speed and dexterity that I scarcely believe to be possible for an aircraft. I went outside to get a better view but it had left before I gone out. Above where the red one had been, another bright star-like object moving in swift circles. As soon as I stepped from under the carport, the light stopped dead. After a while it started moving in spirals, circles and moved up and down and stopped again. There was street lighting in the background and this light silhouetted this thing, and I could see its outline. What I thought was a single light in the centre of three arms, was three lights, one blue, one red, and one green. It seemed to have three arms, but I saw that it had four. I ran inside, and got a piece of paper and pen, and ran back outside. It was still there moving around, and every now and then, the street lighting would silhouettes it. It was during these flashes, that I drew it's outline. The first one was moving around for about five minutes. The second one, seemed to stay longer, but eventually it stopped moving all over the place, then a burst of speed that I could barely explain, up and to the right on angle, at which point it vanished. This sighting occurred at 00:00 hrs over Inverell, NSW.

We saw what looked like a line of light or lights over the Watagan Mountains looking South toward the Quorrobolong Valley. All of us were having a restless sleep from around 2 am, on the first dry night after a month of rain. The sky was clear and stars were visible. I got up at around 4.15 am to check on our dog and saw a large light, in the sky over the Watagan Mountains. I wasn't sure what it was so grabbed my glasses for a clearer view. The 'line of light' seemed to be flashing/sparkling red, green and white. I woke my husband to take a look, he is at a loss to explain what it was. It seemed to move a little, but hard to detect. It stayed fairly still then moved behind the mountain and therefore out of view, after about ten minutes.

Like Kelly and Stefan, approximately 8:30 pm tonight as my wife and I were out for our nightly walk we saw what looked like a star, moving slowly north, 'There were no flashing lights to indicate it was a plane, and then it just faded to nothing; gone into thin air.' Kelly you took the words right from my mouth so I have used your description. In fact, in the past week I have now seen three including this 'star shaped object' sightings. I believe the first two were possibly shooting stars? This was not! It was also very low in the sky and there was no noise at all, we live in a rural part of town. At this time other than the calls of the Kookaburras it is usually quiet so if it was a 'plane' of sorts we would have heard the 'engine' noises. Just came home and went on the net typed into Google for sightings and found this site.

At approximately 9.10 pm on 11 March 2017 I was viewing the night sky when I witnessed a bright object that appeared to be a star. The object started moving gradually, no noise or blinking light to indicate it was an aeroplane. Watched it move across the night sky for approximately three minutes and it faded away completely. I'm very perplexed as to what it could be. As soon as this happened there was another, on a perpendicular trajectory to the first, again no noise or blinking lights to indicate it was an aeroplane. And it also faded away completely after approximately three to four minutes.
I'm sorry it has taken me a few weeks to post this but I didn't know what to do with the information. It has been bothering me and I wondered if anyone else saw this object. As such I had to go back on my calendar, it was either the 11 or 12 of February 2017 (more likely Sunday the 12). We live fairly high up and look out over the ocean. I was watching TV in the middle of the day. I have windows all along the wall behind the TV facing the ocean. Suddenly, I saw a black odd shaped object moving quickly from the left to right (north NSW, travelling south towards Newcastle). It was so strange, my initial impression was it was a black garbage bag blowing in the wind. I guess because your mind tries to explain something that you only glimpse for split-second, finding something familiar. It was so strange the way it came across that I got up and walked onto the balcony. There was no noise coming from the object. I watched it and it had moved off to the right and stopped moving and was hovering. I was trying to understand what it was which is why I mention there was no noise, it was hovering like a helicopter. I was transfixed by it, then it reversed direction and travelled back across the way it had come but further out over the water. Sometimes it was moving slow, sometimes fast, sometimes a straight line and sometimes it kind of looped around. It eventually climbed really fast straight up then hovered for awhile now quite a distance offshore. I was trying to keep watching it when my husband interrupted me, I turned for about three seconds and when I turned back it... Read more

I was trying to keep watching it when my husband interrupted me, I turned for about three seconds and when I turned back it had vanished. Nothing, and I mean nothing, could disappear from the skyline in that amount of time. I have lived near airports my whole life and are quite familiar with aircraft due to my previous job. I have never seen anything behave like this object. As I watched my neighbour was outside doing yard work with his back to the object. Because the object was completely silent it did not catch his attention and I was speechless so I couldn't call out to him to look. I thought this bizarre object has just gone by this man and because it was silent he didn't notice it. I thought it would be made mention of in the newspaper or local news but I have heard nothing. It has been bothering me ever since and I found this guestbook. I was hoping another person near the coast had seen this object. The only thing I would add is that observing this object and straining to see clearly, what I initially took for a black garbage bag had a black underside, that for the life of me, I cannot find the words to describe. The object appeared to be more rectangular. The top, which I could see while it was hovering, appeared smaller, shiny silver in colour and circular. The object moved with purpose and made movements that were extraordinarily fast. This object was not a balloon, drone or plane. I take heart in reading that it's not just me, other people are witnessing UFOs up and down the east coast of Australia.... Collapse
